@striatic: these are lights from huge windows, I was waiting in the car to get my son from school..;-)

okay thank you for the infos. i had a feeling it was a car door too but i couldn't tell for certain.

I think it's the degree of drops melting away ? a straight window would have made the drops run down faster and leave different traces...

it's more that i can see the curvature of the glass in the shape of the blobs.
