Elevated Playhouse Plans
Perhaps the most popular place we parents used to hang out and play with our friends was the tree house. In the tree house relationships and friendships were formed. And when we think about those times, it gives nothing but big smiles on our faces.
Tree houses contributed a lot in giving us a happy childhood, we also want our children to experience as much fun as we had. However, due to the change of time, tree houses are not that widely built anymore. That may be because there are fewer spaces and with the environmental concerns and smaller numbers of trees around.
But there is no need to worry. The advent of elevated playhouses can bring back the feeling of staying and relaxing on a tree house. Elevated playhouses are mostly built 6 feet above the ground. So it brings back the same old tranquility that tree houses give.
If you are living in a highly urbanized area, having an elevated tree house will give a different sense of play to your child. Your child can experience climbing a ladder to get inside the house. Having an elevated playhouse will give kids from the city a sense of what it feels like living in a country side where houses are commonly designed that way.
When building an elevated playhouse here are some points to consider:
• Check your budget. Elevated playhouse can be more expensive as compared to playhouses made on the ground.
• Choose a design basing on the space that you have.
• Let your child decide on what theme he or she wants on her elevated playhouse. If they love combat and battle, a playhouse with military paint can enhance their imaginations as if they are ready for battle. For girls, a pink paint decorated with flowers and ribbons will surely make them happy.
• Decide on what material you are going to use. Most elevated playhouses use wood as main building material, but steel is a good choice. However, steel is more expensive as compared to wood.
• Ensure safety. Make sure that the playhouse’s foundation is sturdy and strong to support the playhouse. There should be railings that provide support to prevent accidents and falls. The height of elevation should only be 6 feet. A height higher than that can be too dangerous especially for younger children.
• Make sure that there is proper lighting and ventilation. When the child plays during night time there should be a light to avoid accidents. Having wide open windows allow the air to freely come in and out providing a more relaxed atmosphere.
Having an elevated playhouse will surely make your child feel happy. They will be more than glad to enjoy it with her friends so that they can relive the memories that you once had during your younger years spent at the tree house.
