I find it rare to find an image this sharp without any unsharp artifact. If you sharpen it yourself, you did a good job. The color is not overly saturated. This is a kind of shot that looks good on your desktop.

@Nottartsydoc: It should be mentioned that this photo was taken with the Canon 100mm 2,8 L IS USM, one of the sharpest Canon lenses to date. Secondly, I almost always do careful manual sharpening after downscaling. I generally use a pretty small pixel radius in Photoshop's "Smart Sharpen" function, sometimes I even apply additional selective sharpening in certain areas that need special treatment. Then again, if it wasn't for the relentless fidgeting of this little guy :), this image could have been a bit sharper still.

Die Schneckenfotos waren doch auch schon Makros! Und das mit dem Mikrofaserwischmop von QVC wird Dir die Besitzerin der Wolfshautjacke vom Jack sicher übel nehmen ;)
