stil laughing at the ghast. it was in a very melancholy sort of way. woods off a backroad at the end of the island into another universe with burned rusted hulks of cars driftwood and that mist straight outta s.king. spookiest part-as i was walking thru the woods felt/saw something move (just saw 'the village' for the first time, in retrospect quite similar feeling). looked closer, was an opossum large as a medium sized dog. and not cute at all. actually all the stories came to me of them tearing the bejesus out of curious dogs, and seeing this one finally made me a hardcore believer. sniffed at me with his snout for a minute as i stood still, then just disappeared.
